Located on the 5th floor of Aqua City Odaiba, this long-standing “ramen food court” offers a wide variety of regional styles all in one place—perfect for anyone looking to explore different bowls without hopping around the city. The interior has a rustic, slightly nostalgic feel, but still comes across as clean and modern. It strikes a nice balance between cozy and lively, fitting for a multi-shop dining space. I went for a miso ramen, and it delivered on all fronts. The broth was bold, rich, and deeply flavorful—definitely on the heavier side, but very satisfying. The chashu was tender and well-prepared, adding to the overall comfort of the bowl. Overall, a solid spot for variety and quality—especially convenient if you’re in Odaiba and craving a hearty ramen fix.

This was hands down the best ramen I’ve had in Tokyo—and honestly, one of the best meals of this entire trip. I wish I remembered the name, but trust me… I’d find my way back here in a heartbeat. The whole experience is part of what makes it so good. You build your own bowl—choosing your veggies, meats, and add-ins—and then bring it back to the table where they customize your broth and spice level. It’s like ramen meets Chipotle… but actually amazing. I went with a garlic broth and light spice, and it was perfect. Rich, flavorful, just the right kick without overpowering everything else. Every bite hit. Everything tasted fresh, the portions were generous, and the whole setup made it feel a little more fun and interactive than your typical ramen spot. And the price? Under $25 USD for both of us. In Tokyo. For food this good. I’m still not over it. If I could eat here again tomorrow, I absolutely would—assuming I could find it again 😅
Not gonna lie, I’m a big fan of ramen, and I’m talking about the instant, sodium-rich, packaged ramen from my local H Mart. When we learned about Tokyo Ramen Kokugikan Mai on the 5th floor at the Aqua City Odaiba, eating there was a no-brainer! This place is described online as a ramen food court with six different ramen restaurants, each offering a different ramen from six different regions of Japan. As foreigners who don’t speak or read Japanese, we were immediately overwhelmed when we arrived to this mecca for ramen enthusiasts. We whipped out our cell phones and Google-searched “What to expect at Tokyo Ramen Kokugikan Mai.” And here’s what we learned… Upon arriving, you need to select which restaurant you want to eat at. Each of the 6 ramen restaurants has a self-ordering kiosk where you select and pay for your meal. You take your receipt to the restaurant, where you’re seated and your food is brought to you. Some of the kiosks only accept cash, so keep that in mind. We ordered and ate at Sapporo Misono. We noticed that the people next to us were wearing disposable bibs, so we followed suit. The bibs, water pitchers, glasses, napkins, and condiments were at our disposal. Minutes after being seated, our large bowls of ramen arrived. Our soup was flavorful and fresh. The restaurant vibe was lively, teeming with people conversing and slurping them noodles! Overall, a great meal! It’s quite the experience. And while it was distressing at first, once we understood the assignment, it was all good. Highly recommend for delicious ramen and for the overall experience!
