That golden tuna bowl was unforgettable. I still vividly recall how fresh and clean the plump fatty tuna meat tasted, melting smoothly like butter in my mouth. I've had a few tunal bowls nearby and across Japan but this one is THE ONE. No hype, no fanfare, just all quality and goodness. The service staff that afternoon was as amazing. I do not recall the name but she mentioned she went to Baguio for english classes. That dancing miso soup invigorated my soul that cold day.

Fantastic meal! While it is on the pricier side, every dish and ingredient was well worth the cost. The quality of the food truly justified the price. I also loved the warm and attentive service provided by the friendly staff. Thank you for such a wonderful dining experience!

An Absolute Masterpiece of Freshness—With a Touch of Gold! This was an incredible dining experience from start to finish! The seafood was exceptionally fresh, naturally sweet, and literally melted in my mouth. Both the salmon and ikura bowl (served in a gorgeous lacquer container) and the premium chirashi don topped with uni, tuna, and pristine prawns were stunningly presented—complete with delicate gold flakes sprinkled on top that made the meal feel incredibly luxurious. The balance of flavors was spot on. The perfectly seasoned vinegar rice provided just the right amount of tang to cut through the rich, sweet, and salty notes of the fresh seafood and soy sauce. Even the presentation of the sake, served overflowing in beautiful glass cups over traditional wooden masu boxes, added an extra layer of elegance to the meal. We wrapped up with the matcha ice cream, which was smooth, rich, and the perfect sweet ending. Incredible quality, beautiful presentation, and absolutely delicious. I cannot wait to come back!

In late February/early March we were in Tokyo for the second time. Only one thing was different this time: my celiac diagnosis. Because I love discovering traditional cuisine when I travel, we were on our way to a 100% gluten-free tempura restaurant. When, inside the same building, our eyes fell on a sign and the label in the elevator: “5F Tokyo Sushi Bowl → gluten free.” On the day of our journey home, we decided to head back to Asakusa one more time to try this place. The staff was wonderfully friendly and helpful, and explained to me in good English that the dishes can be prepared gluten-free for me and that they also have gluten-free soy sauce. The whole room is decorated with Daruma dolls (Japanese talismans). You make a wish and paint a eye; when the wish comes true, you paint in the second. We chose the “Daruma” sushi platter and added a prawn. Everything was very fresh, the sushi rice light and delicate. The prices are on the higher side, but worth every yen. If you’re in Asakusa, do visit this restaurant. Especially with celiac disease and Glutenintolerance.
