Sakananonakamata Ginza
Tokyo

We ordered their recommended set for 8,800 yen per person. This shops specializes in nodoguro, meaning "black throat". It is a fatty and flavorful fish. The fish and other sashimi are all very fresh, service is good even though we are foreigners and spoke very little Japanese. The rice served at the end was also very yummy! 90% of the customers were Japanese. Aside from the set menu, there is also an a la carte menu that you can order from. Since it is an izakaya styled restaurant, it does get pretty noisy. Reservation recommended, as it was full house and seating time is limited.
Definitely coming back the next time I am in Tokyo. Truly owned 5 stars! I was the only “gaijin” there though the place was constantly packed, which is already a good sign :) Mentaiko and deep-fried pufferfish is a must-try! Thank you!
Fantastic food and top-notch service! Every dish was delicious, but the standout favorites were definitely the shrimp and the perfectly grilled fish with its savory sauce. The staff went above and beyond, taking the time to explain the menu and details of the dishes to us. The ambience is wonderful—it perfectly captures the cozy, intimate vibe of a traditional Japanese izakaya but with a sleek, modern touch. An authentic and highly enjoyable dining experience!
This place serves fantastic food. The setting is great. I went with a friend and took the days menu with sake. The sashimi was perfection like the squid. Only little hiccup was the little hurried finish of the dinner. Highly recommended
We had an incredibly wonderful meal and dining experience at Nakamata! The staff were very attentive, hospitable and friendly. The flavours and quality of the food were also on point and amazing! Highly recommended!
